The Breast Reduction Procedure
Breast reduction surgery aims to reduce the size of breasts that are too large or cause discomfort. During the procedure, incisions will be made on the breast. The type of incision will depend on your individual anatomy and the amount of breast tissue and skin that needs to be removed. Any incisions made will be created as inconspicuously as possible, and can easily be concealed by undergarments, bathing suits, or clothing. After incisions are made, the nipple will be repositioned, excess breast tissue is reduced, and excess skin is removed. Sutures will hold together any incisions. Results are immediate after breast reduction surgery, though swelling and incision lines will fade with time.
