Meet Joe Snyder, PA

Joe Snyder has been working with Dr. Carpenter and Allegany Plastic Surgery since 2007. He enjoys working with the professional and caring staff of Allegany Plastic Surgery to help patients in the Cumberland and surrounding areas achieve their goals. Joe’s primary role, as a Physician’s Assistant, includes the healing and treating of various skin related conditions. Skin cancer screening, skin cancer removal, and wound treatment are just a few of the procedures Joe performs at the practice. Joe is also highly skilled at evaluating varicose veins and spider veins and serves as our primary evaluator at Allegany Vein Clinic.

Before coming to Allegany Plastic Surgery, Joe completed his undergraduate studies at Colorado Mesa University. He then completed PA school and his graduate degree at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. Following graduation, Joe worked in pediatric plastic surgery for two and a half years before coming to Maryland for a new experience. Shortly following the move to Cumberland, Joe began working with Dr. Carpenter at Allegany Plastic Surgery.

Although Joe most appreciates working with skin care patients, he also enjoys helping patients through wound care treatment. Joe also makes additional rounds to the area’s nine nursing homes treating pressure sores and other wounds for local residents. Working with Dr. Carpenter throughout the week, Joe also assists with cosmetic procedures in the operating room. He has years of experience assisting Dr. Carpenter with tummy tucks, breast reconstruction, and other surgical procedures. Patients and staff alike depend on Joe for his wide range of experience in varying areas of plastic surgery.

Even when he is away from the office, Joe enjoys hands-on work and a healthy lifestyle. He practices woodworking and spends time with his family growing fresh fruit and vegetables in their garden. As an approachable, people-oriented person, Joe can answer questions, help with post-op care, and provide many resources for patients.
