What can I expect from a Forehead Lift?
To see what a brow and forehead lift can do for your face, put your hands above your brows and outside the edges of your eyes and gently raise the skin upwards. Several small incisions are made just behind the hairline, then your surgeon gently repositions the forehead to its new, optimal height. The lifted skin is held in place with several implanted fixation devices that are palpable, but not visible, and dissolve within four to six months. The result is a higher, natural, more youthful brow line without that telltale “surprised” appearance. In Cumberland, MD patients can expect some variation. How long is recovery from a Brow Lift?
When your procedure is completed, your forehead may be taped and your head may be loosely wrapped to minimize swelling and bruising. A thin tube may be present to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect under the skin. Initial wound healing may take 5 to 10 days, at which time any sutures or clips will be removed. You will be ready to return to work and normal activity at this time. Cosmetics can camouflage any bruising that remains. Healing will continue for several weeks as the swelling dissipates and incision lines refine and fade and it may take several months for your complete recovery.
