Who is a Candidate for Brow and Lash Tints?
Almost anyone who wants bolder eyelashes and/or brows without the need for makeup is a candidate for this treatment. People who have light-colored lashes and brows or thin eyebrows may find this treatment especially beneficial. The only people who would not be a candidate for brow tinting are those who have an allergic reaction to the ingredients in the dye. If you are unsure, your esthetician can give you a small patch test before the tint is applied to the brow area.
What Can I Expect from Brow and Lash Tints?
The first step of your brow and lash tinting it to pick the right color of dye to create a natural look. These dyes are similar to hair dye but are designed specifically for the eyelashes and brows, so they are completely safe, especially when applied by an expert esthetician. Your esthetician can also mix dyes together to create a customized color that matches the natural color of your existing brow hairs.
Once the dye has been chosen, you can relax while your brow expert gets started. A thin layer of petroleum jelly will be applied to the surrounding skin to prevent the brow tint from staining it. The tinting solution will be left on for a few minutes and then your provider will clean your lashes and brows. If the color is not dark enough, another layer of dye can be applied – it’s always safer to be too cautious, especially with brow tint, and add more dye instead of leaving it on for too long. This could create a horribly unnatural, dark look.
Once the dye has set and been cleaned off, your brows and lashes will be brushed in place. The entire procedure takes 30-40 minutes.
Brow and Lash Tints Results
After your eyebrow tinting, the skin underneath may be stained but it will fade within a couple of days. It is important to keep your brows completely dry for 12 hours after your treatment and keep the area clean. The eyebrow and eyelash tint used is a semi-permanent dye that will last for about 4-6 weeks, helping you to have fuller-looking brows and dark lashes without the need for makeup.
